Bucks Fizz are back on CD for 30th Anniversary Collection - but wait there's more.

'A band for Europe' in 1981- just before Eurovision Song Contest


'Making your mind up' has to be one of the most popular and memorable of the five Uk Eurovision winners. To celebrate there is a brand new CD collection called Up until Now that spans the bands whole 80s career on 2 CD's and brings alot of 12" remixes & bonus tracks, not released previously. Like Cheryl's lead vocal of
'Heart of Stone' this song that was no great success for 'the Fizz' back in 1988. However Cher gave the tune new life and made it a hit for her in 1990. So it's good to hear it as the original female-vocal version with Cheryl- along with 2011 New Remixes versions of 'Making your mind up' & 'You & Your heart so blue'

As we know since the mid-nineties Bucks Fizz have many member changes, always missing the 2 original girls Cheryl Baker & Jay Ashton. David Van Day joined the band for a while and created a feud between David & Bobby Gee for the use of the Bucks Fizz trademark.

However at long last following 'Pop goes the band' Tv show Cheryl & Jay made up their minds to forget the differences and join forces with Mike Nolan to form 'Original Bucks Fizz' band. Bobby G continues with his version of Bucks Fizz- there is a BBC doco from 2002 called

'Trouble at the top' on the whole sad saga of the name copyright. I had never saw this in the complete version- its shows just what happened with the Dollar colabration

of Bucks Fizz Vs Van Day's Dollar.

Its sad Bobby G cannot join forces with Cheryl, Jay & Mike now they are finally together at last-

we shall have to see what happens next..

The Fizz... that is Cheryl, Mike & Jay play non-other than London Palladium on 11 th July 2011.

An impressive comeback gig for them, and this will follow a new album featuring some new

recorded songs to be called 'Fame & Fortune'

The fizz does sparkles on in 2011- with all those memories of the 80's hits & impressive singles & albums

and lets not forget when it all began with the 1981 Eurovision glory.

ireland's EuroSong 2011- They have made their Minds up..with some help from cheryl

Ireland's Eurosong 2011- has just finished and what a great show it was. Featuring the non other than the fabulous Cheryl Baker who was on the panel of Eurovision experts- then the Original Bucks Fizz did a performance of Making your mind up' just before the voting began.

Ireland came up trumps in 2011 with some very different songs & styles 5 in all choosen by music mentors from the industry. This was the songs and line-up as they performed in Eurosong -with the final scores.

• 1 -Don Mescall - Talking With Jennifer - Written by Ronan Hardiman & Don Mescall -68 points
• 2 -Jedward - Lipstick - Written by Dan Priddy, Lars Jensen And Martin Larson - 98 points
• 3 -Bling - Shine On - Written by Patrick Mahoney- 44 points
• 4 -The Vard Sisters - Send Me An Angel - Written by Liam Lawton -54 points
• 5 -Nikki Kavanagh - Falling - Written by Christina Schilling, Camilla Gottschalck, Jonas Gladnikoff and Hanif Sabzevari - 96 points

It was a very tight finish on the RTE scoreboard, with jury votes & televotes had been limited to just 33% this year. This seemed to be a disadvantage for the Star act- Jedward' however it turned out to still put them on top and the winners on the night. The regional juries votes gave Nikki Kavanagh the most votes with Jedward a very close 2nd, then the televote as expected gave Jedward the lead they needed to win.

Yes- as we predicted on an earlier post Eurosong was a 2-horse race between Jedward & Nikki Kavanagh, with her massive voice. Jedward jumped like bunnies with joy at the close victory with a 2 point lead on the night.

Good luck boys-you did it-

the song's called 'Lipstick' with this smaller Late Late Show' Tv stage it seemed to limit the twins with the song performance, we expect in the big massive Eurovision stage they will show us everything they have got to offer.

The Original Buck Fizz band have been performing in U K on their Splash tour recently- and we have heard some excelllent reviews of the new show.

At last bringing back Jay Aston to the Fizz fold.

Its sad as many of us overseas fans won't get a chance to see more than the odd u-tube clips.

But don't dispare a new Box-set called 'the Platinum Collection' has a release date of 16th Nov 2009- this is a 4 Cd set of 73 tracks, of Hits, some rare B sides + unreleased song all in one Remastered set. With so much in this CD set, this Sounds a lot like the 80's Hi-Fi Ads they did way back when...

Just before the Eurovision 2009 in Moscow- the original Bucks Fizz ( as the new line-up are now known )
minus Bobby Gee, + the fabulous return of Jay Aston. Appeared on BBC before they performed a
one off show at G.A.Y. club in London- Here Cheryl Mike & Jay seem to have no problems
with the heat in the kitchen ( if you can't stand the heat - one of the band best Hits ) getting
along just fine..as they chat & giggle about their Eurovision moments. See the new
