Schlager-Heros 2-Fredrik Kempe (Songwriter of 'La Voix' & 'Hero')

Fredrik Kempe is the songwriter of 'La Voix' and no stranger to Mf. He first sang
his own song ' Finally' back in Melodifestivalen 2004, this song was a tribute to Benny Andersson. In 2005 he sang with Sanna Neilsson "Du och jag mot varlden" this finished 8 th in Mf. Fredrik
went on to have a another big hit with 'Vincero' ( see Vid) in fact you maybe thinking this is almost La Voix part 2
yet this is a famous opera classic. I recently discovered his fantastic video for the tune I already luv.
Here we can see, even if Marlena has a bad-hair day in Moscow Fredrik could easily transform
from songwriter to opera singer !
Its a great version from the swedish mastro who has wrote the Mf winner two years in a row, as well as 'Cara Mia' & 'Vagar du Vager jag'' (Sanna Nielsen 2007)
We can be assured he will bring us many more classics to the Mf stage.
He is now our 2nd 'Schlager Hero'

Firstly is the two girls from dansband Friends ( 'Listen to my Heartbeat' Mf 2001 Winner )

who also entered Mf in 2004 with a great song

'En gang for alla' sadly this song did not make it to Globen 2004!

Yet Nina & Kim had some swedish hits an excellent debut album

'En annan tid' one of their hits was sung in english & chosen as

Stockholm Pride 2004 Song- its a schlager all-time classic 'Universe of Love'

and would have been a better Mf entry- and the Vid is excellent too!!

I hope the girls do a lili & susie style come-back to Mf...for now they are our first in Heros'

in the schlager hall of fame.

We are into the second week after the Mf Final now yet Marlena's winning song 'La Voix' is still only at No: 4. Normally the winner leaps up to pole position in the chart by now However popular boyband E M D are holding on to No: 1, as Caroline De Ugglas has now jumped up to No: 2 Lili & Susie hold at No: 6 - Fantastic girls your song was just meant to be at Globen for sure. Look 'Oh No' Alcazar & Agnes have dropped down the charts now already. Then two songs that did not make the Final, are high risers this week Star Pilots are up to No:7 While Anna & Marie Hanukaas Storeng stormed into Top 10 from 28, proving to be another great tune 'Killing me tenderly' just missed out on a Globen placing at least. One last mover to note is another one of my fave raves Velvet's 'The Queen' is back up to No:15 ! Stayed schlager tuned to see what happens next week will Marlena finally hit No: 1?

ALCAZAR are the 'Disco Defenders'

  ALCAZAR's New Album 'Disco Defenders' is out now plus it's a double CD collection. Now & Then, with CD 2 featuring a Greatest Hits of the band. Seeing as they never had a real greatest hits' the previous Dancefloor Deluxe CD  was the Best Remix's of Alcazar Hits. The new album has songwriting credits from Anders Hansson, Pet Shop Boys, Danny (E M D) and Oscar Görres. It will be interesting to see with Mans "MZW "album coming out as well, who will win the head-to-head battle for the Swedish Album chart Top position!
One fan-tastic thing about after Globen show is over, we get some terrific Club Mix's normally coming out like the new one for 'Stay The Night'  also found on the new album.

Here is the full Singles chart in Sweden, & Mf has taken over with almost all the 32 songs featuring somewhere in the Top 60. In fact only 3 Singles in the whole Top 20

is not a Mf 2009 song by Lady GaGa Kevin Borg & LoRida. This is yet another record broken in 2009 for Melodifestivalen. In the Top 10 where we find perhapes a mirror image Marlena's 'La Voix' is at No;10 and then Caroline runner-up at

No; 5 (oh dear! )    E M D lead the singles pack and Alcazar look set for No; 1 soon.

These positions reflect the sales before the Globen show was aired! . Lets see just how the singles go in next weeks chart? just stay schlager tuned!

Marlena's Moment of Victory - As she won Mf 2009 & will take Sweden to Moscow

Marlena with 'La Voix' -the song that at the end of the jury voting looked set to have a lower placing. Marlena said herself how she had packed up and was set to go home ! it was Mans 'Hope and Glory' had a clear advantage at that final stage of the final vote.

Then the public vote was added to the score board, and on this rare occasion it was the public that saved the song. The tele-vote over turned the experts and international verdict so Marlena pipped all the others to win Melodifestivalen 2009.

An excellent night of great performances and around 5 clearly winning songs which was shown in the very mixed voting at the end of a tense Final. Well done,
