Jedward -The twins have done the Eurovision Double honours for Ireland!

Opps I did it again! - a very fitting Britney Spears song comes to mind as up against some of the best that Ireland can offer in the Eurosong contest on the 'The Late Late Show' . Jedward did it again and are on the way to Baku 2012.

It turned out to be an even more convincing win for the Twins at the Irish national final than last year. In my option Jedward had alot tougher competition than in Eurosong 2011 as well.

In fact Andrew Mann looked stronger than expected on the night- with an irish style rock ballad 'Here I am' that convencied Juries & the public alike he was worthy of runner up. I liked this song enough to track it down on i-tunes already as well. (or maybe cus Jedward is not out yet!)

The winner in the end was of course- Jedward- and I feel they won the honour again, not just for having a large popular fan base but also coming up with the perfect follow track to last years 'Lipstick'

The Song for Ireland 2011 -is 'Waterline' it shows off even more Jed-talent! than we have seen ever before- I am sure I even prefer it

to last year's song. (see the live clip)

With this song they should surely make the final- then 8th place is a harder challenge to improve on-

Yet we know Jedward- are like a couple of power batteries they go on and on-

Just what more can they achive?

Yes - Jedward will be back in 2012- & have a tune to bring more irish Eurovision glory

Although Ireland have the record for an amazing 7 Eurovision winners, mainly due to the whole contest during the ninties becoming a annual Irish

Euro Song Contest (as they won 4 times ) however in recent years they have not been so strong. In fact previous to last year we have to go back to 2006 & Brian Kennedy's 'Every Song Is A Cry For Love' ( that finished in 10th place)

In Dusseldorf Le Jedward twins changed all this and brought Ireland a 8th placing during a maze of hyper crazy publicity. Jedward during Eurovision Song Contest 2011 saw Ireland get 3 times 12 points in the voting- the same amount as Azerbaijan's Ell & Nicki winner 'Running Scared' a worthy

comeback to the big league for Ireland.

So once again Jedward will submit a Eurovision song for Ireland in 2012- and this year for Ireland's own National Final selection they will have a Music industry mentor system to find an artist & song. This system has been subject of much criticism back in ireland- where even Johnny Logan has said it seems to stray away from the fact that it is and should be more about the song than the artist selection.

Linda Martin as a mentor (see above) has choosen Jedward to be her artist for the 2nd year running- and along with UK X-Factor judge Louis Walsh. He is Jedward's manager- They have had just 100's of songs sent in to them to be a possible Irish National Final entry, the one song has now been choosen by Louis.

In the latest statement from Linda Martin- they are actively searching for strong Male backing singers for the Jedward performance. As apparently they are in short supply in Ireland and hard to come by! (Hey, why not try Stockholm- they have heaps- and it worked for Azerbaijan in 2011!!!)

So it looks highly likey we could have a return of the twin Jedwards! We just hope for 2012 they try and do something a little different

this time and perhapes even a new hair style? dare I say it-

but can IRE afford that amount of hairspray in 2012.

Grand Final dress- rehearsal with Jury scoring begins

All the fun & glamour has starrted early in dusseldorf, with a slight change to the voting procedure in Eurovision 2011. During the final full dress rehearsal, each countries jury will make their minds up and give scores based on this rehearsal, so the pressure is on for each artist to give 100% even for the run-though before Final night. This will be filmed also, just incase the ESC Final on saturday's broadcast was interupted for some reason and the back-up rehearsal can be shown.

When it comes to vote counting on final night -the countries will present the results of -50% jury, 50% televote- in an order set and based on the jury results already found from the rehearsal (and kept secret of course). So how does this change things? it means this collecting of Eurovision-votes will be the most nail-biting of all.

After the past victory from Alexander Rybak & Lena -last year who actually took run-away leads in the voting this change will add to more schlager-excitement!

Real Double-trouble in Semi Final 2 in Eurovision 2011- Jedward Vs The Twiins

That's right Jedward are not the only set of twins in Eurovision! - a pop duo called The Twiins are singing for Slovakia a slow ballad called 'I am still alive' these girls are visually

a euro-treat even if they don't have a showstopper like 'Lipstick'

Yet as we have learned from Eurovison Semi final's just anything can happen! already we have lost Norway & Poland in 2011. Both we think are worthy finalist.

we heard the lads were so excited about using a foreign translator.

Everyone else just was left thinkin' just how can anyone possibly translate at the pace the twins both talk? well- it turned out they can, in russian anyhow - Also in true Jed-style Lena the german winner of Eurovision could not wait to met them, she organised to pick them up in a limo from the hotel

to take them on the first journey to Eurovision Espirt Arena. As you can imagine Jedward were in their element to met Princess Lena Meyer Landrut.

ireland's EuroSong 2011- They have made their Minds up..with some help from cheryl

Ireland's Eurosong 2011- has just finished and what a great show it was. Featuring the non other than the fabulous Cheryl Baker who was on the panel of Eurovision experts- then the Original Bucks Fizz did a performance of Making your mind up' just before the voting began.

Ireland came up trumps in 2011 with some very different songs & styles 5 in all choosen by music mentors from the industry. This was the songs and line-up as they performed in Eurosong -with the final scores.

• 1 -Don Mescall - Talking With Jennifer - Written by Ronan Hardiman & Don Mescall -68 points
• 2 -Jedward - Lipstick - Written by Dan Priddy, Lars Jensen And Martin Larson - 98 points
• 3 -Bling - Shine On - Written by Patrick Mahoney- 44 points
• 4 -The Vard Sisters - Send Me An Angel - Written by Liam Lawton -54 points
• 5 -Nikki Kavanagh - Falling - Written by Christina Schilling, Camilla Gottschalck, Jonas Gladnikoff and Hanif Sabzevari - 96 points

It was a very tight finish on the RTE scoreboard, with jury votes & televotes had been limited to just 33% this year. This seemed to be a disadvantage for the Star act- Jedward' however it turned out to still put them on top and the winners on the night. The regional juries votes gave Nikki Kavanagh the most votes with Jedward a very close 2nd, then the televote as expected gave Jedward the lead they needed to win.

Yes- as we predicted on an earlier post Eurosong was a 2-horse race between Jedward & Nikki Kavanagh, with her massive voice. Jedward jumped like bunnies with joy at the close victory with a 2 point lead on the night.

Good luck boys-you did it-

the song's called 'Lipstick' with this smaller Late Late Show' Tv stage it seemed to limit the twins with the song performance, we expect in the big massive Eurovision stage they will show us everything they have got to offer.

Go go Jedward- can they make it Dublin 2012?

Yes - 'Lipstick' & an April tour and album should follow for the twinz.

Ireland prepare for EuroSong - that could be a Jedward Vs. The Wedding Singer Super-Final!

There is a list available of the five artist competing to sing for ireland- the most promising we found to be- Jedward twins & also keeping-up-Kavanagh appearances is young Nikki who sung as a backing for Niamh Kavanagh ( one-time Eurovision winner back in 1993 ) Nikki Kavanagh is Niamh's cousin with a great voice and keeps herself very busy as Singer, TV Sports presenter, Make up Artist & Wedding Singer! Wow!

Other names confirmed are the Varn Sisters & Don Mescall, one more vacant spot is promising a quartet from Ireland EMi- an irish Bucks Fizz II -Could this be what they are hinting at? Meanwhile the most hopeful we think is Nikki & Jedward- so if you ever wanted a up-coming eurovision star at your wedding just book-in quickly now...

JEDWARD for Eurovision -Yes! and they got SchlagerT's vote already

Its true, Jedward the twins who set the X-factor contest into a frenzy, wanna continue with Eurovision in their sights for the next Jed-conquest. The twinz Edward & John rose to fame from UK X-factor now they have confirmed they will be part of the irish selection for 2011. They had a 2009 No;1 hit in homeland Ireland with 'Under pressure (ice ice baby)'

& have gained an army of Jedward fans.

This is part of a new process of Ireland's Eurovision selection where 5 music mentors from the irish music scene will be a choosing an artist a song each to compete in a final on 11th February 2011 Live on the 'Late Late Show -Eurosong' We think certainly with that right song Jedward have that special real Euro-Star quality- Eire needs.

It seems this is not a recent developement for the boys in fact Louis Walsh (X factor judge) spoke out at the end of Eurovision 2010 in Oslo -just how he felt that Jedward would be great for Eurovision

Then there has been on-going facebook pages to see Jedward in Eurovision since

last year.

It would fit well in the plan for the twins to go international , they are currently being launched in Japan. Then a chance to go Dusseldorf in 2011 would be perfect.

I even confess to having the 'Planet Jedward' album, somewhere...gulp!

One Voice- a schlager Jedward: heading for Melodifestivalen as a Webjoker

The identical twin Music Factor is not a new image. You may recall The Twins UK group were up against Jade in 'Your Country Needs You' in 2009. Then Jedward ( pop boy twin Irish duo ) sent us all crazy in UK X-Factor. The new twins sisters from Sweden are nothing like these Twins before them. They are Schlager Twins with a hint of country, The girls have a rather great song called 'Varje steg' (each step) in the run up to the final Webjoker Selection on Stv site. They are down to the final 15 entries. Another couple to watch is Engla "Don't Stop" - who looks like she will qualify & Billy -who started out as a Gyllene Tider tribute band and have a great song in the GT style called 'Tusen natter' in my option both these should do well.

Back in 2009 One Voice twins won the 'OGAE Home Composed Song Contest with 'Har kommer solen' showing the girls are no One Song Glory- In fact we like this tune even more than the new one (click on the title to hear the track)
