Will there be a Melodi CHART ATTACK for Singles Released in 2010?

this is Bjørn Johan Muri from Melodi Grand Prix, his song 'Yes man' finished
fourth in the final now he is the nations No:1. Its rather strange synth pop track with great hook, and
as we take a early look at the latest singles charts in Scandinavia. Yes Man has
managed to keep their MGP winner Didrik Solli-Tangen with
'My heart is yours' off the top spot in Norway (No:2) . A1 ( MGP runners up ) is
up to chart position 4. Another favourite Venke Knutson who has shot into
the Top 5 at 5- with 'Jealous 'cause I love you' -I agree this is a great
track stands out for me after the MGP Finale.

Meanwhile over in Sweden Melodifestivalen has begun with a bit of a ripple
in the SverigeTopplisten Chart. We follow this chart each season, as a landslide
of Mf Songs will normally take over the Top 20 by the time
Globen Final comes around in March.
Its good to see how the results in the Mf show translate to
the public buying the
studio releases as they come available in Download & CD releases.

This week we find Darin & Agnes are sticking around in the charts with
their recent big hits at No:25 & Darin's Coldplay cover at No:32. Yes there
is a one Mf 2010 song here 'New' at No:27
its Linda Pritchard surely on her way to be the
hit of the first Semi final- Only where is Jenny Silver's 'A place to Stay'?

just stay schlagertuned

Come in Oslo- it's time for your Melodi Grand Prix Final 2010

In Scandinavia this weekend, there is a whole fest of Melodi Grand Prix
finals, as Denmark & Norway will both make the choice of Songs for Oslo 2010. Norway's Finale
has attracted alot of attention. As who can follow-up on Alexander Rybak's victory last year. Well there
is some strong contenders for Spekturm on saturday with A1 boyband who are riding on the crest of a
comeback wave just now. Maria Haukaas Storeng with a firm favourite already with the homeland.

If something a bit different is required I think ' Jealous'cause I love you' by Venke Knutson should
not be overlooked if you asked me. Heavy Rocker tune 'The Dragontower' promises to be a vote
puller this year in Norway. Alexander Stenerud has Alexander Rybak's lucky Song 6 spot from
MGP 2009 as we shall have to see if 'Give it to me' is as good as 'Find the Girl' from last year.

The best is almost the last in the running order, always a good place to be in. So SchlagerVotes & hopes
go to Mr Didrik with his Opera Ballad "My Heart is Yours" come on Norway, it's been noted this guy
could be the one to do the double for Norway! Here is the running order of the songs, click on any artists names
to see clips from those semi finals in Norsk-land.

Maria Haukas Storeng just made my day- with her 'Hold on be strong -pt2'

Over in Norway MGP Season has begun with the exciting third semi final happening this weekend in Skien.
Already we have one firm favourite with Maria Haukas Storeng 'Make My day'
it really is a 'Hold on be strong' part 2- yet even more uplifting than Maria's
Norwegian classic from 2008.
The competition will be tough in Oslo's MGP Final we hope to see Didrik Solli-Tangen qualify

Norway's Det Swinge ...Songwriter comeback for MGP 2010 ?

Rolv Løvland, is the songwriter who took Norway from Last place to
the Top place in Eurovision Song Contest 85 with Bobbysocks. Rolv repeated even
more Eurovision glory in 1995 with his newly formed band Secret Garden.
As 'Nocturne' won for Norway in 1995.

Now this songwriter with so much Norwegian Gold is rumoured to try for a
third time in MGP 2010. Plus Mira Craig who wrote
the hugely popular 'Hold On be Strong' in 2008, is due to try again to represent Norska.
Full details of artists for MGP will be revealed in December, for the moment the rumours
continue to fly

We are hoping Rolv brings us something like 'La Det Swinge' as it remains
one of the best loved Eurovision winners of the past. In fact both the Bobbysocks
ladies, Hanne Krogh & Elisabeth Andreassen will be on tour in Norway this christmas,
yet separately - surely, one more oncore of the '85 classic will be overdue?

A1 take on Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2010

Christian from A1

A1 the boyband are set for a comeback in Decemeber with some comeback concerts at the Christiania Theater in Oslo. Now it has also been confirmed they will be competing in
Norway Melodi Grand Prix 2010. Certainly they will be hot favourites to win. Christian Ingebrigtsen is from Siggerud, Oslo, Norway and with Brit boys Ben Adams & Mark Read, they are the three original band members, Paul Marazzi was the fourth member back in 1999, who quit the band
back in 2002. Shortly after this the band broke-up.
Since then Ben Adams has been part of Celebrity Big Brother. While Christian had a successful solo album in Norway in 2003 'Take Back Yesterday'

Christian wrote one of the best MGP entry's in 2008- 'Eastern Wind' sung by Torstein Sodal- Let's hope he will do the same for A1 in 2010.

They had big success in the U K charts with two number #1s and eight top 10 hits, including a great version of A-ha's 'Take on Me'. In fact they did better in UK than in Norway. They won "British Breakthrough Act" at Brit Awards 2001. Plus A1's manager is Tim Byrne, who was responsible for Steps UK success!

-Here is a photo shoot for Norway's own Red Nose Day recently, and new single 'Take you home' playing during their Tea break- bless...
